About Us

 Dear friends in Christ,

Welcome to all those of you who are visiting this blog site. We are a  small group of lay Catholic people keen to grow spiritually. We use our talents, resources and time to become a useful instrument in bringing Missal readings and reflections on it to all those who are interested to grow spiritually. We are on Facebook from 21st September 2010 and seeing the response we are extending our services to people outside the Facebook by starting this blog site. We are now available on Twitter,  so you can also follow us on Twitter.

Our Catholic Church gives us selected portions of the Bible as Mass readings. The readings over the span of three years cover nearly the whole of the Bible. So by continuously reading the Holy Mass readings( The Missal readings)  we can systematically finish reading the Bible by 3 years.  At the wedding at Cana, Mother Mary said to the servants, “Do whatever he tell you"- John 2:5. Mother Mary's instruction to us even today is the same, " Do what He tells you". But how can we do what He tells us, when we have not read the Bible?  St Jerome said, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. " So those who want to know Jesus  and what He says to us, then please try reading the Holy Mass readings or follow us. We post daily a picture with verses on it for meditation, a link to mass readings and also links to various types of reflection.

The Scripture says, "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.- Hebrews 4:12. Because the Word of God is living it speaks to each according to his needs, So please begin the readings with a prayer asking Holy Spirit to open our hearts and minds to the Word of God. Also end the readings with prayer that this Word will bear fruits in our lives, helping us to be holier and more faithful people. Choose any of the reflection that is convenient for you from the site addresses given for reflections. We have given links of two short reflection for those of you who do not have much time. For those of you who are not keen to read there is a video reflection and also there is a link to site which offers Lectio Diviana. We also give link to a site with information about the saint of the day.
Start reading the Missal readings and start you spiritual journey today.

Peace be with you.

Christi
Manager of ODM  ( Our Daily Missal )

Note:
Attend the Holy Mass every day if possible. Also encourage your family members and catholic friends to read Missal readings and encourage them to attend Holy Mass every day.
A Catholic never needs to be reminded but just in case you think that  reading the missal is equivalent  to attending a Holy Mass on Sundays and other obligatory days,  you are mistaken ! The readings only form the 'Liturgy of words' the other most important part of the Holy Mass is 'Liturgy of Eucharist' which is so very important for well being of our soul. We need both the Word of God and the body of the Lord. So please don’t ever skip a Holy Mass on Sundays and other obligatory days.
